- MachSim_API and MachSim_Standalone
- Breaking news
- Simulation of material removal by tools with complex geometry besides milling and turning in version 1.7.1
- MachSim_API
- MachSim_API is an application programming interface (API) that provides software components to easily implement simulation and visualization of material removal processes in CAM programs.
The heart of MachSim_API is a simulation and graphics engine that applies highly parallelized algorithms executed on one or more available GPUs.
It has server-client architecture: The simulation runs on a remote or local server, utilizing the power of high-performance GPUs, while a local GPU is charged with the displaying.
MachSim_API is multi-platform, written in C++, using OpenCL and OpenGL functions.
- MachSim_Standalone
- MachSim_Standalone is an application that exploits the power of MachSim_API.
It lets you quickly and easily display your own machining processes.
My aim is to create an easy-to-use machining simulation platform for low-budget or freeware CAM programs and hobby or academic manufacturing projects.
- Partners
- MachSim_API and MachSim_Standalone are being developed to work with eCam, a 2D CAD/CAM designer for simple machining operations.
- Costs
- MachSim_Standalone is free until it’s not used for financial gain.
It must not be started from commercial computer programs in order to present their results to their users.
It must not be applied for producing any commercial product, neither during the design, nor in the process planning or manufacturing stages.
It is also prohibited to use this application in order to create deliverables, reports or presentations in funded projects.

- If you have any questions, suggestions, remarks regarding the API or the standalone version, feel free to contact me!

- Visualization of comparative genomic data
- Details
- In the scope of the Mr. SymBioMath project an application is being developed
in order to display the results of multiple genome comparison. A novel visualization technique has been created that combines three
traditional representations of comparative genomic data in a single three-dimensional structure. In this way it facilitates the revealing and
understanding of the deeper relations among the sequences.

- Simulation of painting in robotic environment
- Details
- An OpenGL based graphics library has been created to order, to simulate painting with spraygun in robotic environment.
It handles simultaneous painting with two or more sprayguns with different colors, partly covered surfaces and masks.
The painted object can be exported with various texture resolutions.

- Seeds of information
- Details
- At this work a mathematical algorithm has been developed for reproducing a type of supervised, active learning of artificial entities.
It has turned out that these learning processes can take shape even in the inanimate nature;
if we look around, we can witness this kind of spontaneous birth of information in our environment.
The question is now open: what is the highest level of complexity which could grow from these seeds of information?
- Example
- Below you can start a video in which I show how we can teach a robot to go round obstacles by means of an artificial universe as its brain.
Sounds interesting, isn't it? (Sorry for my bad English pronunciation in the video.:-)

- Machining simulations on general-purpose graphics processing units (GPGPUs)
- Details
- The aim of the project is developing material removal simulations which are completely processed by GPGPUs, the new generation graphics hardware.
The advances are the highly parallel processing and the speed-increasing effect of the fully on-board execution.

- "2ksi" search engine supplement
- Details
- "2ksi" is a special search engine supplement, which tightens the results of Google: it highlights only those web sites in which the searched words are in the same document session (passage, table, list etc.).
Ideal for searching a given conference, as only the related conference titles-places-dates are displayed.

- Soccer Strategy Game
- Description
-
The Soccer Strategy Game is a funny little program, with which two gamers can play soccer on the network.
It's called a strategy game, because the match goes on slower than real-time, while all the 11 players must be controlled simultaneously. They have limited intelligency, so they can be guided to do complex acts. It's like being a trainer and shouting from the side of the field to the players what to do.

- Virtual Sculpture Project
- Description
-
The "Virtual Sculpture Project" appeared at the Right:Here:Now 2005 open-air sculpture exhibition. The virtual sculpture can't be seen with the unaided eye. You can see only a figure painted on the pavement. But if you take out your mobile phone, download a special JAVA application onto it, and turn the built-in camera of the phone to the figure, a sculpture appears on the display, as if it was an organic part of the surroundings.

The "Begging Slot Machine" was one of the exhibited works at the Right:Here:Now sculpture exhibition in 2004, in Budapest. A slot machine with a beggar on the front side, not with a shining cola bottle, and from which you won't get anything but a "thank you" for your money.
The sculpture was placed for six weeks on a well-frequented square of Budapest in the fall of 2004.

- Linkable balloons
- Description
- I have created a special balloon mold with which such latex balloons can be manufactured using the traditional dipping technology that
we can tie together on all sides.
In this way one- or two-layered walls, or even arbitrary 3D shapes can be easily built from balloons:
mosaics, flags, texts, or 3D objects, made of balloons, can be let fly or use indoor for decoration.
